Brown County Municipal Court
The Brown County Municipal Court handles traffic and criminal misdemeanor cases; preliminary hearings in felony cases; civil matters with claims up to $15,000; small claims up to $6,000; and evictions. The Municipal Court Judge also has the authority to perform marriage ceremonies.
The Brown County Municipal Court has jurisdiction within in Brown County, Ohio as set forth in ORC §1901.02. and on the Ohio river within the boundaries set by ORC §1901.027.
